I distinctly remember wondering if I would ever make it to this point of the comic nearly a hundred pages ago.
Between now and then over 3 years and 1,600 hours of work has passed (and that's not including Dave, Richard, Sio, and Jon's time writing, or Moses's editing!) That's 66 days of straight drawing, nuts! Imagine if I'd put that into something more productive, like working on my non-existent ice sculpture or piano skills.
A lot has changed since then, in terms of writing, style, and the lives of everyone involved in this comic. Two of us have become parents, careers have changed, and from this point on things are going to change quick in the comic too. We're just at the end of the first arch, and trapped between a hammer and anvil our party will have the option to crack or harden. I'm exciting to dig into the next chapter, but that will have to come after Adepticon. Which brings me to my next point!
Headed to Adepticon???
We'll be there too! Come say hi, or have your models or costumes repaired at our medic booth. Richard and I will be volunteering our time to help anyone in need of a fix-up with glue, paint, brushes, epoxy, zipties and more. We'd love to see you there! Also, join us Saturday when we help judge the cosplay contest!
Join David, Richard, and I with any questions you have! Be it about plot stuff, making a comic, or even how to make the best damn pie you've ever had, (Richard is a master baker,) we're looking forward to sharing our misadventures and questionable wealths of knowledge with the internet.
Finally, and most importantly,
We've been gifted with additional fine works of art from two of some of my very favorite people. Mika has graced us again this week with one of my favorite characters, miss Aetta Holt! (God I love this. I'm glad I'm finally to a point where I genuinely appreciate it when people draw my characters better than I can. She's just perfect.)
And my very own girlfriend Emika was kind enough to surprise me with my favorite old man this week as well. A welcome treat in the middle of a tricky work week from a very sweet and compassionate person. I'm lucky to know you.
Stay tune for next week when I add in Wrath and Glory's How to Play pages! The next season will be off to a rocky start as I sort out some life stuff next month, but bare with me, we'll be on our way to forging the next arch very shortly.
